Scala Engineer (Contract)
Location: Lithuania Rate: EUR250-EUR300/day
 

For our customer we are searching for a Kotlin Developer for a long term freelance opportunity for a hybrid role, mainly remote to start ASAP.

Please note that only candidates that are currently resident in Latvia or Lithuania can be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in software engineering and coding best practices to minimize technical and architectural debt.
  • Architect, design, develop, deploy, and operate scalable microservices that cater to millions of users in a DevOps environment.
  • Continuously explore and implement efficient software development practices, transforming successful experiments into robust, performant architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Scala programming language, with a strong understanding of functional programming principles.
  • Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Demonstrated expertise in monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, and Kibana.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
