GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Paralegal supports the Real Estate, Business Services and Intellectual Property (“IP”) teams, which are part of the Legal Department of Luxottica North America. The Senior Paralegal works under the direct supervision of an attorney.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a liaison between internal and outside counsel to ensure efficient and effective management of the Company's wide variety of Real Estate, Business Services and Intellectual Property administrative matters.
  • Assists in all aspects of real estate closings; manages deadlines; maintains electronic matter management information; collects information, data, and documents; prepares and/or files various documents, certificates, statements, amendments, and forms as needed; prepares transactional documentation related to real estate deals and business services.
  • Assists in maintaining database of all documents related to real estate and business services matters.
  • Supports Teams' counsels in drafting and monitoring real estate agreements, commercial and IP agreements.
  • Supports Teams' counsels in gathering signatures, evidence and any other document and information related to contract closing or compliance requirements
  • Supports Teams in fulfilling reporting obligations, including preparation of internal reports and reporting of matters to third parties.
  • Researches and analyzes legal sources such as statutes, legal decisions, and legal articles.
  • Performs and/or assists with certain clerical duties such as summarizing documents and routing incoming

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Paralegal Certification
  • 6+ years of experience with a reputable, highly rated law firm, and/or in-house legal department
  • Experience supporting and assisting real estate and intellectual property counsels in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience and comfort with leading investigations, interviews and meetings
  • Experience preparing concise and thorough written summaries and assessments of matters
  • Self-starter who is innovative, able to multi-task, and able to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Strong organization skills with high attention to detail, timeliness, and confidentiality
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of constituents, including various internal clients at different levels within the organization, outside counsel in North America and abroad, colleagues within the global Legal Department, and a diverse variety of other contacts
  • Expert level strength in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Document Management Systems
  • Passion and commitment to profession
  • Proven record of high integrity
