VMware vRealize Automation Manager (Full Time)

Location: Reston Virginia Country: United States of America Rate: Open + Bonus
 

Prestigious Enterprise Company is currently seeking a VMware Automation Manager with vRealize experience.

Candidate will manage the infrastructure automation and non-CI/CD automation, including working with Architecture to select tools, design solutions, and create and enforce automation standards best practices. Research and recommend automation solutions that support IT modernization, accelerate operations, improve consistency, allow self-service capabilities and increase availability of systems.

Candidate will part of the Technology Automation department in the Information Technology division, and be technical leader highly skilled in VMWare vRealize Automation Suite, automation frameworks, DevOps methodologies or SRE practices, Agile practices, and with the ability to lead teams effectively.The incumbent will define the parameters for infrastructure automation and non-CI/CD automation, including working with Architecture to select tools, design solutions, and create and enforce automation standards best practices. Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems and as a counselor to management and customers on advanced technical solutions. Will be responsible for team performance management. May have budget responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Effectively manage diverse teams while continuously improving process and technology

Ensure the team is operating in the most effective way possible and have the appropriate level of skills and resources to be successful

Ability to work across the organization with minimal guidance to gain cooperation, promote Automation services, and communicate to business and leadership

Ability to exercise best judgement in difficult situations and resolve complex issues

Gain cooperation from other areas by influencing positively and by building relationships

Establish appropriate metrics and reporting on availability, performance, capacity, growth, and utilization

Develop a roadmap for Automation services

Contribute to the Automation COE objectives around providing Automation as a Service

Expert in VMWare vRealize Suite to automate enterprise scale infrastructure deployments

Experience in implementation of Ansible for configuration and automation or similar tools

Skill in design and implementation of enterprise REST APIs

Familiarity with ELK stack for monitoring and performance management

Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

Participate in technology assessment; design based on requirements and architectural guidelines, prototype if necessary, and implement reliable solutions

Ensure automation tools are highly available and procedures exist to address issues

Support enterprise disaster recovery program through our services

Champion technology and tools change that improves delivery processes

Act as an agent for change to reflect the latest standards in new technologies and tools

Serve as an enterprise subject matter expert (SME)

Qualifications:

8-10 years of elaborating and relevant Information Technology experience

2+ years of management skills with a passion for leading and developing staff

In depth experience designing solutions that are: secure, resilient, scalable, transformative

Fluent in Unix Shell and other modern Scripting languages

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, any related field, or equivalent experience

Strong work ethic, self-motivated, independent, and works with minimal direction
