About the TeamThe Workday Cybersecurity Analytics and Automation (A2) organization is chartered to support Workday's cyber defense mission by innovating on new techniques to detect cyber threats and providing world class automation to allow our cyber defenders to scale with Workday's rapid growth. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to apply innovative techniques to detect threats at cloud scale, refine our underlying security signal architecture, and partner deeply with other teams to improve how we manage cyber risk.About the RoleAs a Cybersecurity Engineer you will collaborate with a large cross section of teams across Workday to understand the threat landscape, perform data and detection gap analysis and then use this information to develop detections and automate response.
You will be part of a team obsessed with finding new ways to detect advanced threats and support the teams responding to and proactively mitigating these threats. You will actively participate in activities such as:Threat hunting exercises to discover potential vulnerabilities and test detection coverageDeveloping, gathering feedback, and tuning detection logicAutomating response actions to detectionsEvaluating new data sources for applicability to threat detectionAbout YouBasic Qualifications3+ years of experience in security operations, response, or threat hunting3+ years of experience developing automation with a general-purpose programming or scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Java, Kotlin, Scala, JavaScript)Other QualificationsExperience leveraging threat intelligence to develop new detectionsExperience analyzing large data sets in a notebook or SIEM environmentExperience with securely designing, building, deploying cloud applicationsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and SDLCStrong understanding of platform, application, and cloud security fundamentalsExperience working with data processing pipelines and streaming dataFamiliarity with containerized applications and their security considerationsBS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent job experienceAs a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law.
