As a n Expert Application Engineer, you'll partner with product designers and user experience experts to create the ultimate experience for our customer's on discover.com. By understanding our users and the interconnected network within Discover, you'll develop a delightful user experience. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Y ou'll be the SME and leading the team by example. You are a full stack developer and have the technical depth on various modern technologies and tools. If you have designed systems at scale and developed SW solutions with built-in quality, have a passion for flexing your tech skills in solving complex problems and are skilled at developing engineering talent, then apply today!

Responsibilities:

• Creates solutions addressing high impact technology and business?priorities.
• Competent in multiple contexts, including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains?and?is the go-to person for many people?(inside and?outside of their team)
• Research new technological opportunities and how they can be used to add technical capabilities at Discover.
• Drives strategic technology decisions based on collaboration with a board field of experts inside and outside of Discover.
• Contributes to the external image of Discover Technology as a desired workplace to learn technology best practices. ?
• Recognized outside of Discover as a thought leader and participates in internal and external communities
• Shapes learning paths for Discover engineers by bringing what they learn back to Discover so everyone can benefit from their experiences

Minimum Qualifications ?

At a minimum, here's what we need from you: ?

• Bachelors - Computer Science or related ?
• 8+ Years - Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related ?
• Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of expert on the Dreyfus engineering scale

Preferred Qualifications ?

• Experience in Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS
• Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining APIs, containerized applications/services, and IaaS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkin, Git/GitHub, or Gitlab
• Experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ, K afka, or similar
• Passionate about s oftware engineering practices
• Programming language experience in Python . Experience in more than o ne language (Java, C#, Node, etc.) and can pick up a new language quickly
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Superb collaboration and communication
• Great organization and time management

Bonus Points If You Have: ?

• Experience with OpenShift Container Platform
• Experience with contract testing using Pact and/or setting up Pact Broker
• Experience with Golang
• Full stack web applications development experience using React, Node.js
• Risk management knowledge

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $125,500.00 to $211,500.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
