This candidate will develop people, form strong working partnerships with business and technology leaders, plan and execute data engineering programs, formulate data and analytics strategies for solving business problems.You should have superb engineering, technical, business and communication skills to be able to work with functional leaders to define and prioritize key data needs, build data products and platforms.

This role requires an individual with exceptionally strong cloud data engineering skills, experience implementing complex real-time data and analytics platform to produce actionable insights. Successful candidate will be a proven data engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesDevelop the vision of the insurance data fabric by defining measurable/actionable objectives and key results for the data engineering chapter to derive transformation of the data ecosystemsDerive innovation and build highly scalable real time data pipelines and data platforms to support the business needsBuild a data engineering organization that is business focused, proactive, and resilientAttract, hire and retain top engineering talent, creating an engineering culture that fosters innovation and collaborationPromote data governance and master/reference data management as a strategic disciplineImplement strategies to monitor the effectiveness of data managementDrive mediatization of the data capabilities that anticipate changes in the strategic business imperativesBe an inspiring engineering leader, mentor and coach data engineers and be an active member of the data leadership teamEvaluate emerging data technologies and determine their business benefits and impact on the future-state data platformQualificationsEducation and ExperienceThis role requires a bachelor's degree level educated and program management experienceCandidate should have a minimum of ten years of experience in large multinational financial services industryHave previously held minimum of five years data engineering leadership roleCandidate should have in-depth experience in designing and implementing enterprise-wide cloud data and analytics platformsHave hands-on architecture and delivery experience in large scale, cloud data management solutionsHands-on experience architecting and implementing large scale multi discipline master/reference data management, cloud data lake and analytics platformsData technology literate with a detailed understanding of the modem data architectures and data analytics platformsPresentation and facilitation and design-thinking skillsInsurance business domain, data/content and process understandingKnowledge of relational/object modelling, knowledge/graph modelling techniquesUnderstanding of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologiesAbility to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needsKey Behaviors and CompetenciesDemonstrate the ability to work well with others and be respected as a leaderTrack record of remaining unbiased toward specific technologies or vendorsDeep understanding of agile project delivery models and methodologiesExcellent communication skills both verbal and written that clearly and concisely communicates concepts to varying levels of the organizationEnergetic, self-starter who can independently multi-task across many different complex strategic programs to drive multiple deliverables concurrentlyCreative problem solver with the ability to quickly identify and resolve errors through collaborative solutionsData-driven decision maker; able to complete thorough research and investigation, yet quickly make decisions and present findingsCapable of working collaboratively with leaders and business partnersUnderstanding of analytics applications and processesExperience working across business, technical, IT, Digital and Operations teams to influence decisions and drive outcomesIn Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $146,500 to $240,000.
