As a Lead Data Scientist-Optimization/Operations Research at General Mills, you will apply your strong expertise in machine learning, data mining and information retrieval to design, prototype and build next generation advanced analytics engine and services.

You will collaborate with product owners, business partners and other Data Scientists in the consumer marketing and media space to define technical problem statement and hypothesis to test. In addition, you will develop efficient and accurate analytical models that mimic business decisions. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESLead, design, and execute exploratory and applied analyses in the areas of simulation, modeling and optimization, and operations research of key business objectivesWork closely with data science leadership, engineering, and business partners to develop optimization and machine learning models using best in class tools and technology.

Provide technical leadership through strong partnership and providing solution alternatives.Accountable for the analytic solution design across data science, ML engineering and reporting.Create production ready, scalable models that provide real time insights that align with General Mills technology standards.

Serve as a senior leader as part of the data science leadership team- contribute to technical strategy, best practices, and team development.Coach junior data scientist on key technical and domain topics through solution reviews and mentoring.Act as a thought leader in data science techniques and represent the Digital and Technology organization.

Partner with functional analytic teams to align and integrate solutions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSPhD in Operations research, Statistics, Industrial engineering, or Computer Science or commensurate experience in Operations Research with a Masters Degree5+ years of experience in the field of data science 2+ years applied experience in operations research, optimization, or similar fieldHigh proficiency with Python programming in developing optimization models using different types of solvers suiteHands on experience building Integer/Mixed Integer Linear programming, Network/route/price optimization models with sound knowledge of supporting algorithmsComfortable working with large and dynamic Data Frames & writing complex SQL queriesHighly adaptable, curious, and willing to work independently on complex and challenging problemsBias for action with ability to deliver outstanding results through task prioritization and time managementExpertise with leading the development of large-scale AI and machine learning based modelsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with cloud bases AI platformsApplied experience in supply chain, logistics, pricing, or other commercial areaADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONSThis position is remote eligibleRelocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.COMPANY OVERVIEWWe exist to make food the world loves.

Salary Range The salary range for this position is $121700.00 - $203000.00/Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.

The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifictions, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
