Department SummaryPrincipal Engineer - Software sought by DISH Network, LLC in Englewood, CO. Lead the big data team and work closely with business teams to provide viewership data.

Responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of Big Data Process. Troubleshoot issues with AWS Services. Provide advanced technical leadership for complex project work.

Design and develop cloud solutions, translating business requirements into scalable, flexible, and secure cloud architectures. Perform assessments on existing virtualized infrastructure, and document current environments. Work with business units and team members to develop best in class (industry standard) data pipeline.

Coordinate with the team in activities including work planning, status reporting and client relationship management. Job requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field plus 9 years of experience (at least 5 years of which must be progressively post-baccalaureate experience) in job offered or as Senior Software Engineer. Also requires 9 years of work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):Using AWS Services like GLUE, EMR, S3, Dynamodb, Athena, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

Troubleshooting any data pipeline issues.Big data processes and reviewing data pipelines. Apache Spark processing framework and Spark programming languages such as JAVA/Scala/Python/Advanced Java and shell scripting.

Working with Core Spark, Spark Streaming, Dataframe API, Data set API, RDD APIs & Spark SQL programming involving the processing terabytes of data. Developing "Big Data" engineering jobs for large scale data integration in AWS.Writing spark streaming jobs integrating with streaming frameworks such as Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.

Creating and maintaining automated ETL processes with special focus on data flow, error recovery, and exception handling and reporting.Using, setting up and tuning resource management framework, such as standalone Spark, and Yarn or Mesos.Working with external job schedulers & workflows such as Autosys, AWS Data Pipeline, AirFlow, and Apache NiFi.
