Joinand let's lead the way together.About Enterprise Architecture (EA):EA as an organization aims to set the bar for technology at American Express. The two main drivers of EA's success are its frameworks (common services to be leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise) and its Major Engagements (high priority, business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support).

The Senior Engineer in EA will be expected to do hands-on programming to develop reusable, platform-agnostic frameworks, as well as work with product/business teams to design resilient, highly available, scalable distributed systems.What you will be working on:We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Enterprise Architecture team. In this role you will be designing and implementing highly scalable real-time systems following the best practices and using the cutting-edge technologies.

What you will Bring: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience 6+ years of progressive experience demonstrating strong architecture, programming and engineering skills. Firm grasp of data structures, algorithms with fluency in programming languages like Java, Golang and Node.js Demonstrated ability to lead, partner, and collaborate cross functionally across many engineering organizations Experience in designing and building real-time large-scale, high-volume enterprise services leveraging configuration as code for frictionless self-service developer experiences Hands on experience with various integration patterns including API gateways, service mesh, asynchronous message queues and more Hands on experience with large scale distributed NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Redis and Elasticsearch Knowledge and/or experience with containerized environments, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker Experience in implementing and maintaining highly scalable microservices using REST, gRPC, WebSockets and GraphQL Appetite for trying new things and building rapid POCsPreferred Qualifications: Experience with large scale enterprise API gateways including Envoy Proxy, Istio and Apigee Knowledge of Observability concepts like Tracing, Metrics, Monitoring, Logging Knowledge of tools like Prometheus, Grafana, AlertManager, Jaeger, Kibana, Elastic, Splunk etc.
