TITLE: Senior Software Design Engineer in Test JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for driving enhancements and maintain Symetra applications that allow our business partners to proactively manage business Symetra business processes. Participate in large system implementations by influencing team to accurately estimate and deliver assigned QA tasks, including recommending test environments and test-bed configurations, creating the Test Plan/Test Matrix, producing test requirement scripts and datasets, executing test scripts, and recording the results.

Participate in requirements definition, design walkthroughs, and test plan reviews. Drive and influence solution planning/design/development for projects. Document, track and resolve complex defects as they are found.

Identify process improvements and enforce quality standards for technical testing functions, including influencing the QA COE to create and apply QA best practices. Develop automated test suites. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical field, or the foreign degree equivalent, and three (3) years of information technology experience with a focus on quality assurance, including: Three (3) years of experience communicating with various levels of IT management and creating project level status reports.

Three (3) years of implementation experience with waterfall/SDF and Agile development methodologies. Three (3) years of experience implementing and using defect and test case tracking systems. Three (3) years of experience with load and performance testing on web-based applications.
