What You'll Do:

  • Architect, build, and scale end-to-end systems, owning the technical strategy and execution for major product initiatives.
  • Take complete ownership of mission-critical features, defining project roadmaps, setting technical direction, and executing with extreme velocity.
  • Partner with the Commerce team to translate complex project goals into concrete technical proposals and world-class implementations.
  • Champion engineering excellence across the organization, driving best practices in code quality, system reliability, and operational readiness.
  • Lead technical deep-dives and architectural reviews, shaping the long-term technical vision.
  • Diagnose and solve challenging production issues, building resilient, observable systems that prevent failures at scale.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas such as finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts.
  • Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts to guide development.
  • Translate detailed designs into computer software; test, debug, and refine as needed.
  • Enhance software to improve efficiency and reduce operating time.
  • Provide technical guidance to programmers to ensure deliverables meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to system design, including application programming on large-scale DBMS and development of complex software to meet design objectives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a successfully adjudicated National Check w/Inquiries (NACI).
  • Must have a proven track record of designing, building, and operating complex, large-scale distributed systems in production.
  • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Expertise in both operating and modernizing infrastructure as well as designing secure cloud architectures to support the OCIO's shift from IaaS toward PaaS and SaaS.
  • Possess deep expertise in one or more of the following domains: distributed databases, Real Time data processing, machine learning infrastructure, or performance optimization at massive scale.
  • Extensive experience building sophisticated, performant user interfaces with modern frameworks like React or Next.js.
  • Possess mastery of a major cloud ecosystem (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code principles (eg, Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional projects from inception to successful global launch.
  • Strong ability to deconstruct complex technical problems and communicate solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovative solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Leadership qualities with a track record of mentoring junior team members and fostering team collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality, reliable software.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative in ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What's In It for You:

  • The opportunity to support high visibility federal missions in IT and healthcare
  • A culture that values innovation, growth, collaboration, and quality
  • Access to cutting-edge tools and technologies
  • Comprehensive benefits for you and your family
