The Powertrain Software Architecture Technical Fellow will work closely with software architects, systems engineers, controls engineers, controls architects, software engineers and tools engineers to provide technical guidance and direction for global teams responsible for the development of controls and software components for engine and transmission control modules to ensure throughput and utilization efficiency. Responsibilities include setting direction for optimal modeling styles and code generation guidelines, performing design reviews of control models and generated software, auditing of global development teams for compliance to guidelines, working with tools team to develop automated tools, and the creation of optimized modeling library blocks and utility functions.

Basic Qualifications:

. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent, required; other undergraduate level technical degrees in the specific area of relevant specialty expertise may be considered

. Master's degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent, required; other graduate level technical degrees in the specific area of relevant specialty expertise may be considered

. Minimum of 12 years of total work experience, with a minimum 10 years applying specialty expertise

. Demonstrated excellence in written communication through technical publications in journals, conference proceedings and technical reports

. Demonstrated competence in the ability to direct, guide, lead and mentor significant research or technical programs

. Patents and/or evidence of innovative thinking

. Demonstrated depth and width as indicated in the description of capabilities and expertise above

. Demonstrated capacity to be key "point person" within FCA to advise and assist in developing ideas

. Strong presentation and oral communication skills

. Meets FCA requirements qualifying the candidate for a Technical Fellow classification

. Production Embedded software/controls development including model based AutoCode generation (Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow/Embedded Coder)

. Embedded C/C++ software experience (hand-code)

. Experience developing software/controls with a defined software development process

. Experience with throughput optimization and task scheduling

. Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate activities, responsibilities and on-time deliverables across multiple concurrent projects

. An ability to transmit an understanding of specialty to an automotive engineering audience

Preferred Qualifications:

. PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering

. Design for Six Sigma Blackbelt certification

. Reactive Blackbelt certification

. Demonstrated ability to set technical direction for the company

. Lead decoupled development and advance the state of the art

. Demonstrated ability to lead people and groups

. Ability to train and coach technical specialists and engineers

. Experience with AUTOSAR architecture, concepts, specifications, tools, and production implementation (design, development and test) Powertrain controls/software experience

. Familiarity with OBD II

. Experience with CAN and LIN

. Experience with dSPACE

. System Desk Experience with Vector

. DaVinci Developer Experience with Hard Real-time Embedded applications

. Published and presented papers in conferences and journals

. Pending or granted Patents Active involvement in SAE
