The Treasury Balance Sheet Modeling (BSM) Team is responsible for the management, oversight and delivery of a centralized BSM framework. This framework is at the center of Treasury's strategic forecasting processes, and there is an expectation for further expansion beyond Treasury in the future.

In this role, the team is a core contributor to all activities leveraging the BSM framework, including development of additional use cases/analytics and management of the centralized QRM Framework model. Current use cases include Interest Rate Risk Management (IRR), Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and Economic Capital for IRR (EC).

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Support management of monthly maintenance to the centralized QRM Framework in support of all business use cases, including the change request life cycle, stakeholder approvals and implementation.

  • Support development of new use cases and metrics planned for the QRM Framework, including project and stakeholder management, Framework development and implementation testing.

  • Operate as a subject matter expert for the BSM Framework, building strong relationships and supporting successful operation of the Framework within the Line of Business and alternative user groups.

  • Support successful review of the Framework by second and third lines of defense and external regulators, including Model Risk Management and Validation (MRM&V), Market Risk and regulators.

  • Deliver one-time analytics as requested by senior management in support of strategic initiatives and risk management related to net income, valuation, credit, FTP, capital and liquidity metrics.

  • Bring together an understanding of financial mathematics, banking products and QRM Framework capabilities to identify and recommend best in class implementation approaches which support all Framework use cases.

  • Leverage a strong understanding of the banks risk position/metrics and the QRM Framework to develop, recommend and forecast hedging strategies to manage the banks IRR position.

  • Attend line of business strategy and new product initiative calls to identify potential new risks to the bank and develop, recommend, socialize and implement functionality to measure those risks.

  • Partner with the Central Model Development team to prioritise and develop statistical modelling solutions implementable with in the QRM Framework to enhance forecasting.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Experience with QRM Framework software package preferred.
  • CFA or FRM a bonus, team will support study towards program.
  • 3+ years experience in Treasury or Banking preferential.
  • Understanding of banking Liquidity, FTP, ALM, Credit Losses and Capital.
  • Strong Excel skills, with SQL and Powerpoint a plus.
  • Good written and oral communications/presentation skills.
  • Quick learner, comfortable with the concepts of financial mathematics.
  • Strategic thinker, capable of seeing the bigger picture.
  • Good time management skills, understanding the challenges around prioritization.
  • Innovative, capable of drawing on all prior knowledge to create solutions.
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree; preferred in accounting, finance or business.
