Front End Engineer - Big Data

We are using the latest technologies running on open source big data platforms and deployed on a public cloud. Our team is comprised of engineers with experience building UI, analytics, and big data platforms.

Position Summary

We are presently looking for a Software Engineer in the Data Platform Engineering team to help process and match entertainment metadata within Gracenote and Nielsen. If you are a software engineer interested in data engineering and solving mission-critical data matching problems, please read on!

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Build ETL pipelines for Gracenote and Nielsen entertainment content metadata
  • Transform metadata attributes into training data sets
  • Work with Gracenote Applied Research to run matching algorithms and models
  • Build API to store and serve match results
  • Analytics on the match system performance

Required skills:

  • 2+ years experience in Java or Scala development
  • Familiarity with Cassandra and Elasticsearch
  • Understanding of data flows, data architecture, ETL and processing of structured and unstructured data
  • Ability to work as part of a team and self-motivated
  • BS in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent work experience, Master's preferred

Nice to have skills:

  • Go/golang
  • Python
  • Apache Spark
  • Familiarity with data mining concepts, machine learning algorithms and basic statistics
  • Frontend development
