Overview

Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced Manager to fill a highly visible and strategic leadership role within the Analytics Center of Excellence in the IT organization. This individual will manage and support offerings across the Analytics COE, with a strategic focus on Sales Reporting and Commercial Analytics Product Management.

This role will provide both people and program leadership in the Commercial Analytics space and will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and global business users to deliver business insights through innovative, data and analytics solutions. This individual will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of an Advanced Analytics strategy for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project and product management for on-going and future enhancements to the existing applications (eg Commercial Analytics and Sales Data Products) and new investments that will generate business value.
  • Provide project and product management and oversight for operational support of existing Commercial Analytics products and drive optimization of support processes.
  • Technical leadership and oversight of global Commercial Analytics solutions and data integrations with cross-functional platforms such as SAP HANA, Tableau, Salesforce.com, Informatica, and Cloudera Hadoop.
  • Key contributor to the creation and execution of the Analytics strategic and tactical roadmaps.
  • Analyzes the needs of functional departments, divisions and regions and establishes detailed level objectives, goals, and priorities for implementing IT solutions to support functional initiatives or provide on-going systems support.
  • Provide management and strategic direction of product teams and employees assigned under them.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional and technical teams to provide strategic direction to global groups and serve as an advocate to promote the benefits of Analytics platforms and capabilities.
  • Promotes and supports the principles and standards of the enterprise architecture and enterprise supported technologies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Oversight of Commercial Analytics technologies and end to end technical architecture and data integrations including enhancements and operational support.
  • Provides oversight and input to requirements/user story analysis, level of effort estimation, and project planning.
  • Promotes simplified integrations and Analytics solutions with a business process first approach.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects and Product Managers to contribute to the overall data modeling strategy and information flow decisions.
  • Support the development of integration systems throughout the Software Development Lifecycle according to the IT methodology, department SOP's, and team guidelines.
  • Maintains validated systems within the Commercial Analytics scope in accordance with internal software validation procedures and compliance to external controls such as SOX 404, GDPR, etc.
  • Oversees and provides guidance for solutions to complex technical problems by challenging traditional technical assumptions.
  • Identifies innovative uses of Information Technology to provide a competitive advantage in Analytics for Boston Scientific.

  • May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (eg federal/country and regulatory requirements).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science or Software Engineering, related technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years total experience: 5+ years' experience managing people, 3+ years' experience in associated Business Intelligence and Analytics tools
  • Strong technical background and experience with Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms, integrations, and data warehousing such as Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, Oracle, AWS, Informatica, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with Analytics implementations and/or data and reporting projects.
  • Experience managing program financials, operational budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and negotiations.
  • Experience with software development life cycle, Waterfall, Agile and Dev/Ops methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to clearly communicate with management, business leaders and senior leadership in both written and oral communication.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical solutions to business partners at their level of technical understanding.
  • Excellent organizational skills, experience leading large development teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of multiple technologies with extensive knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of technologies supported.
  • Understanding of environmental shifts in technology and the impact against products.
  • Understanding of the full breadth of needs for a solution to be brought to market (infrastructure, QA, UA, security, etc.).
  • Able to work on a team in person and in a collaborative virtual settings; self-motivated, self-directed, adaptable.
  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight time constraints.
  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
  • Proven experience working in a regulated environment with quality systems which includes strong documentation skills.
