MACCRAY Public School is seeking qualified applicants for a Full time Technology Coordinator

The Technology Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, support and maintenance of the district's technology system. The Technology Coordinator is responsible for technology planning, direction of the technology committee, presentations to the board of education, budgeting, and limited staff development.

Essential Functions

  • Manages district's technology system including LAN's and WAN, Windows/MAC Servers, and Windows/MAC workstations.
  • Responsible for network and server installation and maintenance, end-user hardware and software support, troubleshooting, and technology assessment and planning.
  • Responsible for communicating with district administration and staff.
  • Responsible for carrying out the vision for technology as defined by the district.
  • Responsible for planning of district technology needs.
  • Ability to seek out and apply for technology-related grants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of a Technology Coordinator.
  • Thorough knowledge of the PC hardware platforms and operating systems.
  • General knowledge of the MAC hardware platforms and operating systems.
  • Ability to set up and maintain network, Servers, hardware, and software.
  • Ability to research and solve technical problems.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments or problems independently.
  • Ability to apply a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents.
  • Ability to read, summarize, and/or compare data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school district administration and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with school district administration and staff to small and large groups.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to use modern office equipment and related software.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and minimal experience in a job-related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job-related field that enables performance of all aspects of this position.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires using hands to finger, handle or feel and lifting, frequently requires sitting, speaking or hearing and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling; work requires close vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and color perception; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analysing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (eg business office, light traffic).
