Position Overview

Nielsen's Digital Reach and Resonance tools provide the metrics that guide brand marketers in effectively optimizing their advertising campaigns, planning future campaigns and generating guarantees on future campaigns. As a Nielsen Digital Director of Business Development, you would go to market with the gold standard of digital measurement. Nielsen's Digital reach and resonance tools give advertisers and their agencies the confidence that what they're doing in the digital space is comparable to other media forms and that it's effective.

Key Responsibilities

Nielsen is seeking talented and experienced sales and marketing professional to help build and sell Nielsen's digital advertising solutions to large and independent agencies on the east coast. This person will contribute to a high-caliber team in a business that is experiencing rapid and dramatic growth. The individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth of existing business and generating new business opportunities. They will be expected to meet and exceed revenue targets and grow the presence of Nielsen's Digital Ad Ratings, Total Ad Ratings, Digital Brand Effect, Mobile Brand Effect, Expanded View and other related products at agencies assigned to them.

  • Experience selling a complex, technology-based product or service, with research sales, online ad sales and/or software as a service sales to advertisers or agencies

  • Ability to have a marketing/research conversation with prospects and clients
  • Analyze campaign performance data and provide insights on how to optimize

  • Minimum 5+ years sales experience with proven track record of exceeding revenue and market share goals
  • Minimum 3 years' experience; understands the digital media space—planning/buying/selling digital product of services. Sample relevant companies:

    • Agencies: Group M, Starcom, Carat, OMD, Universal McCann, Mediavest, Digitas, Initiative
    • Media Publishers: Yahoo, Collective Media, AOL, Tribal Fusion, Casale, Fox, IAC
    • Ad Serving: Innovid, Sizmek, Double Click, AOL/Platform A, Right Media, etc.
    • Software as a Service (SaaS): Adobe, Acxiom, MediaMath, Datalogix,, Success Factors, Google
    • Advertisers: McDonalds, American Express, Humana Healthcare, Honda, Bacardi, AT&T
  • Experience or familiarity with market research
  • Talented relationship builder with outstanding agency/media contacts
  • College degree required
