Overview
The Health Software team is seeking a senior leader with a deep background in shipping large-scale software. This role requires a balance of experience: the discipline to build high-quality deterministic software and the technical depth to navigate the uncertainty of ML-based development cycles. You are a leader who understands the entire lifecycle-engineering, project, program, and QA-and can drive execution in highly ambiguous environments.
Description
You will drive engineering efforts that bridge the gap between complex technical research and shipping software. You will be responsible for ensuring that all features-whether deterministic or probabilistic-meet rigorous standards for reliability and performance. You are expected to move fluidly between high-level program strategy and detailed technical reviews. You will work alongside diverse teams to navigate projects with a high degree of ambiguity, align engineering, program management, and QA, and ensure that the evaluation of stochastic systems is as robust as traditional software validation.
Responsibilities
- Dual Engineering Depth: Lead the delivery of both traditional, deterministic software and products powered by ML and Large Language Models.
- Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the intersection of engineering execution, project/program milestones, and QA strategy.
- Execution in Ambiguous Spaces: Provide technical direction and structure for high-stakes projects that are not yet fully defined.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional partners in product, design, and clinical teams to align technical goals with the user experience.
- Decision-Making: Make difficult technical and operational calls to maintain a high bar for product quality and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years experience leading high-performing engineering teams at scale
- Understanding of the unique challenges involved in evaluating and validating non-deterministic systems where traditional testing is insufficient.
- Track record demonstrating the ability to build a diverse and strong team-attracting, hiring, retaining, motivating the best talent
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
